Rishikesh to Devprayag
Devprayag is well connected to Rishikesh. One can easily travel from the Yog Nagri to Devprayag by bus, taxi, or private vehicle. To travel by bus, you can reach the Rishikesh private bus stand and pay attention to the conductors screaming ‘Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag… (Yes, there is another Srinagar in Uttarakhand.) Your destination will be 72 km up from here, and you will be charged 140 rupees to Devprayag.

A well-known rest stop for visitors on the Rishikesh-Devprayag Highway is Teen Dhara. This tiny neighbourhood on NH 58 along the Ganga River is well renowned for its inexpensive restaurants (Dhabas). As the name implies, Teen Dhara means a place where three water springs are situated. The locals sell spicy cucumber with chutney, jaljeera drink, maize (bhutta), and some other traditional beverages to satiate your taste buds.
A special retreat is a tiny spring that provides clean drinking water throughout the year, which the locals depend upon. Travellers fill their bottles with icy-cold drinking water at this stopover after tasting the spicy cucumber and jaljeera. So there is no need to buy another bottle of water if you already have an empty one.
Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC)
The Badri Kedar Dharamshala in Devprayag offers a comfortable stay to globetrotters seeking a peaceful and affordable retreat. The stay is managed by the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC). It provides a range of affordable room prices, making it an ideal base for exploring nearby locations. For the same location in Rishikesh, one has to spend a hefty amount of 3–4 thousand rupees per night; however, the BKTC Dharmshala can be booked for Rs. 400–600 per night. Your rooms will echo with the flow of the rivers while you are resting on your bed. To have a more thrilling experience, take a chair and sit down for hours in the bay area under the roof. The bay area of Badri Kedar Dharamshala is the best place from where you can watch the confluence of the rivers and the Himalayan range.
