Chavara Cultural Centre Hosts Christu Mahotsav 2023: A Unifying Inter-Religious Christmas Extravaganza

 

 

 

Chawara Cultural Center proudly announces the organization of Christu Mahotsav 2023, a Christmas celebration at Diosennan Community Center, Ashok Place, Gol Dak Khana, Delhi. In collaboration with diverse Christian organizations, the event focuses on bringing joy to differently-abled children from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana under the theme “Celebration of Diversity – India’s Celebration.” The festivities will be globally accessible through live streaming on YouTube as part of this interfaith Christmas festival.

The distinguished Justice C.T. Ravi Kumar from the Supreme Court will inaugurate the festival, with addresses by esteemed figures such as Archbishop Anil Couto of Delhi, Archbishop Kuriakose Bharanikulangara of Faridabad, and Dr. Father Martin Mallath CMI, General Counselor for Education and Media. Reverend Father Varghese Vallikkattu , Chief Vicar General of the Diocese of Gurugram-Delhi, will also share insights.

Notable guests include Lok Sabha MP Dr. Loharo S. Foj, Deputy Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities Shri Keresi Kaikhushro Deboo, and National Coordinator of the Indian Multi-Dharma Parliament Goswami Sushilji Maharaj. Swami Chandradev Ji, Founder Chairman of the Global Saint Society Welfare Foundation, Sufi Ajmal Nizami of Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah, Chief Rabbi Ezekiel Isaac Malekar of the Delhi Jewish community, and Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok from CIHTS Varanasi will also grace the occasion. Additional guests include Founder of Acharya Sushil Muni Mission Vivek Muniji Maharaj, Chief Priest Singh Sahib Giani Ranjit Singh Ji of Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Director of Public Information Baha’i House of Worship Delhi Carmel Tripathi, Additional Secretary (Administration) A. Dhanalakshmi from DST, Regional Secretary of the Archdiocese of Delhi’s Dialogue and Eco-Ministry Commission R.V. Dr. Norbert Herman SVD, and Kerala BJP State Vice President A.N. Radhakrishnan.

Dr. Father Martin Mallath CMI, Chairman of Chavara Cultural Center, expressed, “This festival is an initiative to promote peace and harmony in society through interfaith dialogue, art, literature, and cultural discussions. The essence of Christmas lies in glorifying God in the highest heaven and spreading peace among people on Earth whom He favors. It gives the world a message of peace, joy, and hope.”

Dr. Father Roby Kannanchira CMI, Director of Chawara Cultural Center Delhi, stated, “Christmas is celebrated worldwide in remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ, who embraced everyone and excluded no one. Following his footsteps, this year, the theme is Celebration of Diversity – India’s Religious Festivals “Representatives from various religions, different denominations of Episcopal churches, and local individuals are participating with differently-abled children. Everyone is welcome to be part of this festival.”
