At Los Angeles’ Ovation Hollywood on Monday, the much-awaited 96th Academy Awards event came to a stylish conclusion. Christopher Nolan won seven prizes for his epic biographical thriller Oppenheimer, which also took home the Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor honours for him and the stars Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr.

Emma Stone, for her role as Bella Baxter in Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things, took home the Academy Award in the Best Actress category. The winner of Best Supporting Actress went to Da’Vine Joy Randolph of The Holdovers. Starting at 4 a.m. (IST), the Oscars began this time.
