#FPO Mela concludes at Delhi Haat INA
New Delhi, July 8, 2024:
The first FPO Mela of 2024-25, organized by SFAC and F2DF Private Limited, concluded today at Dilli Haat-INA, marking a significant milestone in promoting Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and sustainable agriculture. With over 30,000 visitors attending the event over three days, the mela showcased the diverse products of 40 FPOs from across India, representing over 1,000 farmers.
“This has become a movement. Most of our farmers are marginal farmers, and progressing alone is difficult for them. There is strength in unity. Thanks to the Prime Minister, who set the target of 10,000 FPOs in every block, we have now reached around 8,875. The quality of FPO products surpasses that of big companies, and some FPOs have a turnover of 1 crore. The government stands with you, and we will take this movement forward. Farmers will receive training, and online ordering facilities are available. Both the consumers and the producers benefit,” said Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
