Vinesh Phogat’s Battle for Olympic Silver: CAS to Deliver Final Verdict Today

The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) is scheduled to deliver a decision on Saturday concerning wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s appeal against her expulsion from the Paris Summer Olympics in 2024. In addition, she has asked for a shared silver after winning the semifinal match.

The ultimate decision on top Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s appeal against her disqualification from the Olympics in Paris will be made public by the Court of Arbitration for Sports today.

In her appeal, Phogat also demanded a joint silver medal because she was found overweight after winning the semi-final in Paris.

The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) is scheduled to deliver a decision on Saturday concerning wrestler Vinesh Phogat's appeal against her expulsion from the Paris Summer Olympics in 2024. In addition, she has asked for a shared silver after winning the semifinal match.

A major step forward in the athlete’s legal fight against her removal from the Olympics was made on Thursday when senior attorney Haris Salve chose to represent Vinesh Phogat in the Court of Arbitration for Sports.

The Court of Arbitration for Sports hearing on the dispute has completed, and the verdict is expected to be announced before the end of the Paris Olympics 2024.

On Saturday at 6 p.m. Paris Time (i.e., 9:30 p.m. IST), the Court of Arbitration will declare the case’s final decision.
