The “India and Central Asia” book launch event was held at the India International Centre, New Delhi

The event was organized by the Literary Club of the Management Education and Research Institute and Unity International.Theevent was coordinated by Dr. Shikha Gupta (Head of Literary Club) along with Dr. Stuti N. Markan, Ms. Sarita Yadav and De. Simranjeet Kaur.

Dr. Rajesh Mehta, Secretary General of Unity International Foundation, welcomed the audience and dignitaries. In his address, he discussed the longstanding friendship and strategic relationship between India and Central Asia, touching on key areas like infrastructure development,educational collaboration, and cultural diplomacy. The book was officially released by Shri I.P. Agarwal, Chairman, Management Education and Research Institute. Moreover, Professor Lalit Agarwal, Vice President of the institute, expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guests, includingMr. Sadriddin L. Suyarov, First Secretary of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Habib Miezozoda,Charge of Affaires, Tajikistan, and Mr. Ashok Kumar, Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Finland and Suroram. Prof. Agarwal provided insights into the book’s discussion on India’s geopolitical and economic ties with Central Asia, emphasizing India’s diplomatic achievements and strategic partnerships, particularly in defense, tourism, culture, and uranium agreements.

Esteemed dignitaries also shared their insights on this occasion.H.E. Mr. Habib Miezozodahighlighted Tajikistan’s close relations with India and discussed collaboration in economic development, education, agriculture, and digital technology. He also mentioned challenges in trade and business, seeking India’s support for further development.Mr. Sadriddin L. Suyarovspoke about the shared cultural heritage between Uzbekistan and India, expressing pleasure in the book’s release, while Mr. Ashok Kumaremphasized the importance of academic collaborations. He shared personal experiences about Central Asia and recommended the book “Early India” by Tony Joseph for students to explore the historical ties between India and Central Asia.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Deepshikha Kalra, Dean of the Management Education and Research Institute, who thanked the dignitaries and audience for their participation. The launch of “India and Central Asia” marks an important contribution to the academic discourse on the geopolitical and cultural relations between India and Central Asia. It aims to enhance understanding and collaboration between the regions.
