Dr. K A Paul Slams Allu Arjun’s Arrest, Questions Double Standards in Law Enforcement
New Delhi, 13 December 2024
In a bold statement Dr. K A Paul, the influential political leader and Popular evangelist, has strongly criticized the recent arrest of actor Allu Arjun. In a no-holds-barred response, Dr. Paul questions the selective application of law and raises serious concerns about the double standards practiced by authorities when it comes to powerful political figures versus ordinary citizens or celebrities.
The arrest of Allu Arjun, known for his role in the blockbuster movie Pushpa, has sparked outrage among many. Dr. Paul, speaking on the issue, didn’t mince words, pointing out the stark contrast in the way political leaders are treated by law enforcement.
He reminded the public of the several incidents during political rallies led by former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, where tragic fatalities occurred—eight deaths in Kandakur, three in Guntur, and 23 during the Pushkaralu festival. Yet, none of these incidents led to any questioning, arrest, or legal action against Naidu.
“What’s going on here? Powerful politicians are given a free pass despite causing deaths and chaos, while an actor is arrested under questionable circumstances. Why no questions were asked when political rallies resulted in fatalities? Why is Allu Arjun being treated differently?” Dr. Paul asked.
Dr. Paul raised his voice further, emphasizing the constitutional violations taking place. “This is a direct violation of Article 14 — equality before the law. If Allu Arjun isn’t released immediately, I will file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) to challenge this arrest,” he added.
Dr. Paul also invoked his rights under Article 19, which grants freedom of speech, to call for answers. “I am using my voice to question this arrest. I am exercising my right to free speech, and I believe every citizen, regardless of their status, deserves equal treatment under the law.”
