Professor Vipin Kishor Mishra from CKM Law College, Araria, has been missing since September 24, 2022. The police have not been able to find any clues regarding his whereabouts. Araria police have announced a reward of Rs. 50 thousand for providing information about the missing Professor Vipin Kishor Mishra. SP Ashok Kumar Singh said that the police are making every possible effort to locate the missing Professor Vipin Kishor Mishra. The court has been requested to conduct a polygraph test on the five suspects in the professor’s abduction case. The process of conducting lie detector tests on the accused has also begun. In addition, the police are working with several angles to successfully locate the missing professor. He mentioned that a reward of 50 thousand rupees has been announced for those who provide information leading to the discovery of the missing professor. The identity of the informants will be kept confidential.

The SP (Superintendent of Police) also mentioned that information related to the abduction is being gathered, and the police investigation is underway based on this information. Making it public would not be appropriate. Considering it as a sensitive incident, the police are actively involved in investigation, keeping all aspects in mind. The police have been active since the abduction, and an appeal for cooperation from the public has been made. Correct information can be provided to their mobile number or the mobile number of the Araria city police station. In connection with the high-profile abduction case in the district, the police have intensified the investigation for the recovery of Professor Vipin Kishor Mishra from CKM Law College. On Thursday, the canine squad continued digging throughout the day in various areas of Araria city to unravel the mystery of the abduction. However, the team did not achieve any success.

Earlier, on October 26, 2023, a metal detector and bomb disposal team arrived from Patna to attempt to determine in the jungles around Trishuliya Ghat and Baba Ki Kuti whether the missing professor’s mobile phone or his body is not nearby. SP Ashok Kumar Singh stated that the police are continuously working on locating Professor Vipin Kishor Mishra from the Law College. Besides the metal detector and bomb disposal team, the canine squad was also called in earlier. The police are investigating from various angles to unravel the mystery of the abduction.

On September 24, 2022, the kidnapping of Professor Vipin Kishor Mishra from CKM Law College occurred when he left the college after marking attendance in the evening. It is worth mentioning that Vipin Mishra is a resident of Birpur in Supaul district. After his abduction, on September 25, his wife, late Prem Lata Mishra, came from Birpur to Araria Thana and filed an FIR.
