‘Students in Action’ Theme Captures Dynamic Campus Life Through Lenses of Young Photographers.
New Delhi: The Precious Pixels Club of MERI College brought campus life into sharp focus with its Inter-College Photography Contest held on April 22, 2025. Centered around the theme “Students in Action,” the event showcased the creativity and storytelling prowess of student photographers from across institutions, capturing candid and compelling moments that reflect the energy and diversity of student experiences.
The event opened with a spirited welcome by student anchors Amandeep Singh and Nilisha Sharma, who introduced the day’s program and emphasized the club’s mission—to cultivate artistic expression through photography-focused events, workshops, and exhibitions.
Adding gravitas to the occasion was the presence of chief guest Prof. Vinesh Kumar, a veteran media professional with over two decades of experience in television, cinema, and academia. In his keynote address, Prof. Kumar encouraged budding photographers to harness the power of imagery to tell authentic stories and explore new creative dimensions.

The highlight of the event was the exhibition of shortlisted photographs that brought to life the everyday vibrancy of student life—from classrooms and sports grounds to spontaneous campus interactions. The entries were evaluated on parameters such as creativity, composition, and emotional resonance. The panel of judges also offered personalized feedback, lauding the students’ ability to frame ordinary moments into impactful visual narratives.
The contest not only celebrated photographic talent but also underscored the importance of visual arts in youth expression. With enthusiastic participation and a strong response from attendees, the Precious Pixels Club reaffirmed its role as a catalyst for student-led creative initiatives and pledged to continue fostering artistic exploration within and beyond campus walls.
