Vaani Kapoor has described her absence from the much-anticipated War 2 with both wit and style and has everyone smitten with her whimsicality. In a recent interview, the War star jokingly addressed her lack of return stating, “Tiger and I both died in War, so I said if Tiger [Shroff] comes back, I’m coming back too, my friend!”
Vaani portrayed the female lead in the 2019 action blockbuster War, co-starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, that made more than ₹475 crores worldwide. While neither Tiger nor Vaani will be returning in War 2, she made it clear she harbors no hard feelings. “I’m just really grateful to have been a part of War, the OG War. That was huge,” she said, expressing admiration for the upcoming sequel’s ambitious scale.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 will see Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as Kabir with South star Jr. NTR coming in as the new villain and Kiara Advani in a leading role. The film will be a part of Yash Raj Films expanding spy universe and is scheduled for release on August 14.
With Vaani’s open and cheerful disposition, her reaction to the casting switch reflects her professionalism and positivity. Vaani’s focus also returned to her earlier projects, including the thriller series Mandala Murders, and fans applauded both her maturity and likability. Obviously, her quirky comeback has made the audiences love her more, once again proving that grace goes a long way in Bollywood.
