RPI (Athawale) Haryana Chief Ravi Kundli Appeals for Peace and Equality on Buddha Purnima

Lawyer Ravi (Sonu) Kundli points out the timelessness of Buddha’s words and Ambedkar’s memory in advancing social justice and peace.

New Delhi: On the festival of Buddha Purnima, Advocate Ravi (Sonu) Kundli, State President of Republican Party of India (Athawale) in Haryana, wished the people of the state and country warm greetings. Highlighting the ongoing importance of the teachings of Gautam Buddha, he opined that the values of peace, compassion, and non-violence are extremely important in the present world, particularly for maintaining social harmony and justice.

Kundli emphasized that Buddha’s message is of particular importance to societies that have been subjected to discrimination and inequality for centuries. “Buddha’s values remind us of the significance of dignity and equality in society,” he said.

Establishing a direct link between Gautam Buddha and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Kundli wrote that Ambedkar’s conversion to Buddhism in 1956 was not merely a religious action but a deep expression of defiance against caste tyranny. “Dr. Ambedkar’s act was a peaceful yet powerful act of resistance which continues to inspire the Dalit community today,” he further stated.

He reaffirmed Republican Party of India (Athawale)’s continued work in Haryana to defend Dalit rights and promote social equality. Kundli also stressed the importance of renewing Buddha’s philosophy in a time characterized by growing social cleavages.

Appealing to the youth to take the lead, he exhorted them to study and follow the teachings of Buddha and Dr. Ambedkar. “The youth have to maintain the ideals of justice, equality, and non-violence to create an equitable and just society,” he concluded.
