This rule will be applicable in One Day and T-20 cricket

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is continuously making efforts to improve cricket, a game famous for gentleman’s game in the country and the world. ICC tries to keep bringing new improvements and experiments in cricket, so that the game becomes more interesting. The spectators have also accepted the new ICC rules. Now ICC has announced new rules.

Stop clock rules

ICC has implemented a new rule to reduce the time between overs in ODI and T20 cricket. ICC has named this rule as stop clock rule. Under this rule, the next over will have to start within 60 seconds. If the bowler fails to do so, a penalty of 5 runs will be imposed on the bowling team. This rule will be implemented on a trial basis from December 2023 to April 2024. If it is successful, it can be implemented regularly.

New rule regarding gender change also

ICC has also issued a new rule for women’s cricket. The ICC has barred players who have attained ‘male puberty’ from participating in international cricket. Male puberty means that males change gender to become females during adolescence. Under the new rules, such players will not get entry into women’s cricket. This rule will apply to all ICC tournaments. According to ICC officials, this new rule will maintain the integrity of international women’s cricket.

Rules regarding pitch and outfield also

Changes in the pitch and outfield monitoring rules have also been approved in the ICC meeting held in Ahmedabad. According to the new rule, now any field will be banned (within 5 years) only after 6 demerit points. According to the old rule, if a ground gets 5 demerit points within 5 years, then it is out of hosting international cricket for 1 year.
