Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan to Felicitate Farmers at FPO Mela, Dilli Haat-INA on Monday

Farmers from Indian 8 states: Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, J&K, Punjab and UP.

Visitors throng at stalls of Makhana, Mustard Oil, Oraganic Potato, Organic Basmati Rice, Oraganic Spices and some other Handmade items.

Excitement peaks as the FPO Mela, organized by SFAC and F2DF Private Limited, culminates at Dilli Haat- INA. Tomorrow, Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of India, Sh. Shivraj Singh Chauhan, will felicitate the farmers, underscoring the importance of promoting Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and sustainable agriculture.

Since its launch on July 6th, the mela has drawn over 10,000 visitors daily, showcasing a diverse array of products from over 1,000 farmers across India. Participants have lauded the event’s organization and its role in directly connecting consumers with their family farmers.

Rahul Dhingra, the organizer, highlighted, “With 40+ FPOs participating and over 100 B2B connections forged, the FPO Mela has proven to be a pivotal platform for organic and natural products. It’s an unparalleled opportunity to meet your family farmer and support sustainable agriculture. We are delighted to welcome the Union Agriculture Minister to meet the farmers and felicitate them.”

Attendees have delighted in exploring stalls featuring organic honey, chemical-free spices, traditional grains, and a variety of consumable household items, contributing to a festive and community-driven atmosphere.

One participant from Budgam, Jammu & Kashmir, shared, “This mela has provided a great platform to showcase our high-quality apples, walnuts, almonds, and pears. We have some home grown spices that are high in demand. The direct interaction with consumers has been invaluable for us.”

Another farmer from Darbhanga, Bihar, expressed his satisfaction, saying, “The response to our superior quality makhana (fox nuts) has been overwhelming. This event has significantly boosted our visibility and sales. We also have roasted Makhana and a special mixture for Kheer.”

A farmer from Sirmour, Himachal Pradesh, remarked, “Selling our pickles, kodu flour, jaggery, sugar, and turmeric at the FPO Mela has been a wonderful experience. The opportunity to connect with consumers who appreciate our traditional and organic products is fantastic.”
