PM Modi Launches ₹16,000 Crore Projects in Ajmer; Riju Jhunjhunwala Calls It a Boost for Developed Rajasthan

Ajmer: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched and laid the foundation stone for ₹16,000 crore projects in Ajmer, giving a significant push to infrastructure development and economic growth in Rajasthan.

The ₹16,000 crore projects in Ajmer include major road, water, renewable energy, and employment initiatives aimed at strengthening connectivity and accelerating regional development.

Prominent textile industrialist Riju Jhunjhunwala termed the announcement a historic step toward achieving the vision of “Developed Rajasthan.” He said the scale and scope of the projects reflect a structured and long-term approach to balanced growth.

Expressways to Strengthen Rajasthan’s Infrastructure

Key projects include the Bandikui–Jaipur Greenfield Expressway and the Amritsar–Jamnagar Corridor. These infrastructure projects are expected to improve freight movement, reduce travel time, and enhance logistics efficiency across Rajasthan.

Jhunjhunwala said better connectivity will open new opportunities for trade, industry, and investment, reinforcing Rajasthan’s position as a growing economic hub.

Water Security and Public Health Focus

The ₹16,000 crore projects in Ajmer also include the Nonera and Parvan Akawad drinking water schemes, aimed at improving water access in several districts.

He further described the nationwide HPV vaccination campaign as an important public health measure supporting the well-being and empowerment of young girls.

Employment and Renewable Energy Expansion

Under the Rozgar Mela initiative, appointment letters were distributed to more than 21,000 youth, marking a significant step in employment generation.

Jhunjhunwala added that the expansion of the renewable energy grid will attract fresh investment, promote industrial growth, and create new employment opportunities across Rajasthan.

He also expressed appreciation to Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivasan, Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, and other senior officials for their cooperation in advancing development initiatives in the state’s interest.

Concluding his remarks, Jhunjhunwala thanked the people of Ajmer for their continued support and reiterated his commitment to contributing to the broader goal of “Developed India – Developed Rajasthan.”
