New Delhi: Author Dr Bhargav Mallappa met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and presented him with his new book, The Modi Era: India’s Journey of Transformation. The book looks at the changes brought by digital technology to governance and public life in India.
Mallappa and Singh discussed the growth of digital services and their impact on citizens. The conversation covered Aadhaar, Jan Dhan, mobile connectivity, UPI and Direct Benefit Transfers.
Mallappa explained how these digital systems have influenced public-service delivery and access to financial services. He also raised concerns around cybersecurity, privacy, digital literacy and access to technology.
Rajnath Singh acknowledged Mallappa’s work and the book’s focus on documenting India’s changing governance systems and digital landscape.
In The Modi Era: India’s Journey of Transformation, Mallappa examines how technology has changed the way citizens, businesses and government institutions interact. The book also explores the opportunities and challenges linked to India’s continuing digital expansion.
Mallappa said his objective was to capture India’s transformation through the experiences of ordinary people. He said the book also seeks to understand how technology has become an important part of India’s development story.
