T-Series joins hands with Legend Studios for ‘The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’, with the ambitious historical drama set to begin filming in early 2027
T-Series has joined hands with producer-director Sandeep Singh and actor Rishab Shetty to bring the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to the big screen. Titled ‘The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’, the ambitious two-part historical epic will explore the journey of one of India’s most revered rulers, his vision of Swarajya and the legacy that continues to inspire generations.
To mark the collaboration, producer Bhushan Kumar presented Rishab Shetty with a century-old painting of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The gesture reflected the team’s respect for the Maratha king and the responsibility they have taken on while bringing his story to cinema.
Two-Part Epic to Explore Shivaji Maharaj’s Battles, Leadership and Vision
The makers plan to present the historical saga on a grand scale. The two-part film will explore defining battles, extraordinary sacrifices, landmark victories and lesser-known chapters from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s life.
The narrative will highlight his military genius, strategic foresight, fearless leadership and transformative vision of Swarajya. Through these aspects, the film aims to present not just his achievements as a warrior and ruler but also the ideals that shaped his legacy.
The project will feature an expansive ensemble cast and bring together creative talent from India and overseas. The team aims to create an immersive cinematic experience that introduces this important chapter of Indian history to audiences across generations.

Filming to Begin in Early 2027
The production team has started pre-production and plans to begin filming in early 2027. Through this two-part historical saga, the makers aim to go beyond a conventional retelling of history and celebrate the ideals of Swarajya.
The film will focus on the courage, conviction and leadership of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and highlight how his vision continues to inspire India.
Gulshan Kumar and T-Series Films present ‘The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’. T-Series Films and Legend Studios are producing the film. Sandeep Singh will direct the project, while Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar will serve as producers. Rishi Virmani and Sandeep Singh have written the film, with Rishab Shetty, Shiv Chanana and Kabiir Sadanand joining as co-producers.
