A Gurugram workshop highlighted how Haryana MSMEs can explore global markets through FTAs, export schemes and the state’s 2026 policy
Gurugram: India’s Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) could create new opportunities for businesses looking to expand into international markets. A state-level workshop in Gurugram on November 3, 2026, brought government officials and industry representatives together to discuss how Haryana’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) can explore these opportunities.
The Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, organised the workshop in collaboration with the Haryana government. The programme focused on helping exporters understand trade agreements, export procedures and available government support.
Workshop Highlights Export Opportunities
The workshop covered FTA-linked export opportunities, non-tariff measures, export procedures and the Trade Connect e-Platform. It also included discussions on Haryana’s MSME and Export Promotion Policy.
Sector-specific sessions examined opportunities in textiles and apparel, agriculture and food processing, engineering goods and automobile components.
These discussions aimed to help businesses understand international trade requirements and identify markets for their products.
MSME Insights Plans 3,500-Copy Awareness Drive
During the event, Mukesh Pandey, Founder of MSME Insights Magazine, announced a special awareness initiative for entrepreneurs and exporters.
The magazine’s forthcoming edition will cover India’s FTAs, participating countries, export opportunities and Haryana’s Progressive MSME & Export Promotion Policy, 2026.
The publication plans to distribute 3,500 copies among MSMEs, entrepreneurs, exporters and industry associations. The campaign aims to make information about trade policies and government schemes easier for businesses to access.
Pandey also presented copies of the magazine to Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh and other senior officials.
Industry Representatives Stress Need for Awareness
Gunjan Mehta, President of the National Trade & Industry Council (NTIC), supported the initiative and highlighted the importance of educating entrepreneurs about the practical benefits of FTAs.
He said businesses need guidance on export procedures, emerging markets and government incentive schemes to make better use of international trade agreements.
Mehta also reaffirmed NTIC’s commitment to organising awareness programmes and interactive sessions with government departments and industry associations.
Focus on Smaller Businesses
The workshop aimed to extend export-related knowledge beyond large exporters and reach smaller enterprises across Haryana.
For MSMEs, understanding trade agreements, documentation requirements and non-tariff measures can help them assess whether international markets offer viable business opportunities.
The awareness initiative by MSME Insights seeks to support this process by connecting entrepreneurs with accessible information about government policies and export programmes.
The broader objective is to strengthen Haryana’s export ecosystem and support India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
