MERI Hosts “Global Exchange: Dialogue” Event to Foster International Education and Collaboration

New Delhi,MERI College, Delhi, in collaboration with SIAM University, Thailand, successfully organized the “Global Exchange: Dialogue” event. The program aimed to promote international educational partnerships and expose students and faculty to global perspectives, serving as a platform for a student exchange initiative between MERI and SIAM University.

Celebrating Global Educational Initiatives

During the event, distinguished guests from SIAM University—President Dr. Ponchai Mongkhonvanit, Vice President Professor (Dr.) Chanita Rukspolmung, and International Affairs Director Dr. Ying Saveeni—joined MERI leaders including Vice President Prof. Lalit Aggarwal, Advisor Dr. Rakesh Khurana, Head of the International Studies Center Dr. Ramakant Dwivedi, Dean Dr. Deeptishikha Kalra, along with various department heads and faculty members. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Rakesh Khurana, who warmly welcomed the esteemed guests from SIAM University.

Emphasizing the Importance of International Education

In his address, Dr. Ponchai Mongkhonvanit discussed the evolving global education landscape, the significance of academic cooperation across borders, and the critical role of higher education institutions. Professor (Dr.) Chanita Rukspolmung highlighted SIAM University’s innovative approach to integrating education, research, and community engagement in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She introduced the “Triangle of Living Learning Lab” (SU-LLL) concept, emphasizing the interconnected relationship between the university, educational programs, and the broader learning ecosystem.

Insights into SIAM University’s Global Opportunities

Dr. Ying Saveeni, Director of International Affairs at SIAM University, provided a comprehensive overview of the university’s academic vision, research initiatives, and opportunities for international collaboration. Her presentation shed light on the diverse global prospects available to students, reinforcing the value of cross-border academic exchanges.

Engaging Students Through Interactive Sessions

A key highlight of the event was an interactive session that saw active participation from students pursuing degrees in BBA, MBA, BAJMC, BCA, and B. Com. Led by Dr. Ying Saveeni, the session featured discussions on global education, career opportunities, and cross-cultural learning, followed by a quiz that rewarded winners with prizes. This interactive dialogue enabled students to gain a deeper understanding of the global education system, sustainable teaching models, the role of entrepreneurship and innovation, and efforts by universities to drive sustainable development. Additionally, it provided them with opportunities to enhance problem-solving, critical thinking, and intercultural communication skills.

The event concluded with Dean Dr. Deeptishikha Kalra extending her gratitude to the SIAM University delegates for sharing their invaluable insights, and to the MERI faculty, department heads, and students for their enthusiastic participation.
