New Delhi: Experts from the defence, telecom and academic sectors discussed emerging technologies shaping the future of software-defined communications at a Round Table Conference in New Delhi.
The conference was held at Taramandal Conference Hall, MERI Delhi Campus, and was jointly organised by the MERI Department of Space Studies, MERI Group of Institutions and Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS).
The discussions focused on the integration of space networks, 5G, 6G, Direct-to-Device connectivity and multi-orbit architectures. The participants examined their potential role in building resilient communication systems for defence and national security.
Prof. Lalit Aggarwal, Vice President of MERI Group of Institutions, delivered the introductory address. Lt Gen PJS Pannu presented the thematic address and discussed software-defined architectures and their strategic role in future multi-domain operations.
Shri Vipin Tyagi, Former ED and CEO of C-DOT, led a technical session on software-defined communications across 5G, 6G and space networks.
Col Bharat Gupta addressed D2D connectivity, spectrum and border security. Brig (Dr) Navjot Singh Bedi, Professor at Sharda University, discussed multi-orbit space systems and their role in next-generation communications.
The conference concluded with a Round Table Discussion chaired by Lt Gen PJS Pannu. Air Cmde Himanshu Gopal delivered the closing remarks and Vote of Thanks.
