Sugandha Mishra as Dramatic Suman in ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’
The actress plays a cunning drama queen who stirs chaos in the Sai Darshan Society.
New Delhi: Sony SAB’s most popular family drama, “Wagle Ki Duniya,” has been enjoyed by audiences all over the country for its relatability to a middle-class life and inspiring family moments. But now the show is about to get even more interesting, with the entry of the most popular actress and comedian, Sugandha Mishra, into the show as the newest character, Suman Gadhia: a lively, over dramatic, and shrewd lady with a flair for turning every event into a theatrical act.
Suman arrives in Sai Darshan Society claiming she is conducting research for a middle-class role she is playing in a drama show alongside Yamini (played by Manasi Joshi). Her way with words and unbendable charm easily earn her Yamini’s permission to stay in the society temporarily. Yet behind that buttery voice, Suman carries a great many burdens and a past that is anything but innocent.
With the revelation of the whole story, the show is all set for a shocking twist when Suman creates false allegations against Rajesh Wagle of inappropriate acts. The accusation thus turns out to be a major emotional blow to the Wagle family as a whole, leaving all of them shattered in their faith and disturbed in their lives. However, against all odds, Rajesh’s wife, Vandana (Pariva Pranati), and daughter, Sakhi (Chinmayee Salvi), will stand by his side, as they know all too well who Rajesh is and what he stands for.
A series of dramatic arcs during which the Wagle family tries to answer the million-dollar question—Why is Suman after them? And what is she hiding? As the drama deepens, viewers will probably start discovering that Suman’s treachery is all about an old rivalry that spices up the story further.
Delighted to be associated with a role, Sugandha Mishra said, “I struck a chord instantly with the character of Suman. She is quirky, unpredictable, and layered—a role that really lets one spread their wings into acting. There is a little drama queen in me too, so playing Suman was quite close to the heart.”
She further adds, “The role was an overall fun experience, but it did test me emotionally, as I had to do some really serious and intense scenes. This is the first time I explored this much depth in a role, which was very exciting and fulfilling. From the onset, it was nerve-racking and inspiring to see this intense amount of work being put in by the entire team and to feel welcomed by all.”
Future scenarios also hit Sumeet Raghavan, cast as the virtuous and principled Rajesh Wagle, affecting his character’s whole life. Sumeet Raghavan, essaying the role of the perfectly upright and principled Rajesh Wagle, is brought a shocker about visions for the future wherein life very suddenly turned upside down for his character. He stated, “Rajesh is someone who always does the right thing, whether anyone is watching or not. So, for him to face such a grave and false allegation is devastating for both him and his family. The show has handled this sensitive topic with great care and depth, emphasizing the strength of relationships and importance of truth.”
He complimented Sugandha, saying, “It has been a wonderful experience working with Sugandha. She brought so much fresh energy to the set and went into the character of Suman with complete dedication. While we had so much fun off-screen, she certainly left everyone amazed with her emotional performance in such intense scenes.”
With the entry of Sugandha Mishra and the ensuing drama around Suman’s deception, Wagle Ki Duniya promises to take viewers through more emotional highs and thought-provoking turns.
