New Delhi: HRDS India has submitted a formal complaint against businessman and Congress leader Robert Vadra at Lodhi Colony Police Station, New Delhi. The complaint, filed by HRDS India Secretary Mr. Aji Krishnan, alleges that Vadra made an anti-national statement attempting to justify the brutal massacre carried out by terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, on April 22, 2025.

The heinous attack claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians, shocking the entire nation. While global leaders condemned the act, Robert Vadra reportedly made remarks suggesting that the massacre was a response to alleged insecurity felt by Muslims in India. According to the complaint, Vadra stated that “the attack was a message to the Prime Minister,” implying that terrorism was a reaction to communal conditions within the country.

HRDS India considers such a statement extremely provocative and dangerous. The complaint highlights that Vadra’s words appeared to justify the killing of civilians and portray the terrorists as retaliating due to domestic issues. He allegedly said, “This government only talks about Hindutva. It surveys mosques and interferes in religious matters. The attackers targeted people based on their religion. The reason for this is the divide between Hindus and Muslims in this country. Killing people based on their religion is a message to the Prime Minister. This is because Muslims feel vulnerable in this country. Minorities feel they are weak in this country.”

The organization believes such remarks amount to endorsing terrorism, spreading fear, and promoting communal disharmony. Vadra also reportedly mentioned examples such as Muslims being oppressed in India, restrictions on their prayers, prohibition of loudspeakers on mosque rooftops, and crackdowns on gatherings, especially near Delhi’s Jama Masjid. He claimed that India is currently not secular and is ruled by religious politics. These factors, he suggested, may have influenced the terrorist attack.

HRDS India strongly condemns this narrative, which it views as an indirect endorsement of violence and a grave attempt to destabilize peace. At a time when the country is mourning the victims and demanding justice, such statements serve only to divide society and embolden enemies of the nation.

The organization has urged the authorities to take strict legal action against Robert Vadra under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, citing his alleged attempt to justify terrorism and incite communal unrest.

HRDS India reiterates its unwavering commitment to national unity, and calls upon all responsible citizens and public figures to act in the interest of peace, justice, and the integrity of the nation.
