Bihar strengthens Ease of Doing Business with a revamped Single Window Portal offering 62 services across 9 departments for investors
Patna: Bihar has taken another step towards improving its Ease of Doing Business system with the launch of a revamped Single Window Clearance Portal.
The upgraded portal brings 62 services across 9 departments onto one digital platform, allowing investors to manage several approval-related requirements without moving between different departmental systems.
The portal was launched by Department of Industries Secretary Shri Kundan Kumar in the presence of senior officials and representatives of major industry associations. The initiative is being implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Samrat Choudhary and guidance of Industries Minister Ms. Shreyasi Singh.
One Platform for Multiple Approvals
Through the revamped portal, investors can check the approvals applicable to their projects, submit applications, upload licences already obtained and track application status online.
The platform brings together services associated with the Pollution Control Board, Prohibition, Excise and Registration, Legal Metrology, Water Resources, Fire, Energy (DISCOM), Environment and Forest, Road Construction, and Revenue and Land Reforms departments.
This integration is intended to give investors a single digital point for approval-related services.
KYA Module Offers Stage-Wise Information
The portal’s revamped Know Your Approval (KYA) module helps investors understand the approvals required at different stages of their projects.
Investors can check requirements under Pre-Establishment and Pre-Operation stages and proceed directly to the relevant application facility.
The portal also includes Register Your Intent, Strategic Partnership and Investor Facilitation features. Through these facilities, investors can connect with designated officials at the sector and district levels. The system also provides contact information and appointment-booking options.
Bihar Seeks to Simplify Investor Processes
Industries Department Secretary Shri Kundan Kumar said the revamped portal would improve transparency and make the approval process easier to track.
Director, Industries, Shri Mukul Kumar Gupta said the initiative would support Bihar’s Ease of Doing Business ecosystem by bringing approval identification, applications, document uploads and investor facilitation under one digital system.
The Department of Industries said it will continue to expand the Single Window ecosystem and add more integrated services for investors across Bihar.
