The Chavara Cultural Centre marked the grand celebration of Kristu Mahotsav 2025, its fifth annual festival dedicated to promoting cultural coexistence, interfaith unity, and inclusive social values. The event brought together a vibrant mix of diplomats, religious leaders, educators, artists, families, and several specially-abled children, affirming the Centre’s commitment to compassion and community engagement.
Among the distinguished guests were West Bengal Governor Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose, Archbishop Anil Joseph Thomas Couto, Bishop Stephen Fernandes, and ambassadors from Portugal, Malta, Timor-Leste, Peru, and Guatemala.
“A Movement of Compassion”—Spirit of Kristu Mahotsav
Rev. Dr. Fr. Roby Kannanchira CMI, Director of the Chavara Cultural Centre, opened the event with a heartfelt welcome. He said:
“Kristu Mahotsav is more than a festival—it’s a movement of compassion. Specially-abled and underprivileged children are not guests here; they are the heart of this celebration. Christmas is the Bethlehem we build around us, where dignity and love belong to everyone.”
Governor Dr. Ananda Bose Launches His New Book
Governor Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose delivered a meaningful message on unity and compassion, emphasizing Christmas as a symbol of renewed faith and service. He remarked:
“Christmas invites us to embrace our shared humanity. The specially-abled children remind us of the profound strength found in unity and kindness. In a world of diverse faiths, the Divine light holds room for all.”
He also formally released his new book ‘Kristu Mahotsav’, adding significance to the evening.

The event closed with a vote of thanks by Rev. Dr. Mathew Koikal, Deputy Secretary General of the CBCI, who honored the contributions of dignitaries, volunteers, and partner institutions.
