Rishabh Pant Joins MS Dhoni in Dubai for Diwali Celebration
13 November 2023
Team India’s wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, recovering from a car accident last December, has been on the mend throughout 2023. Currently engaged in dedicated recovery sessions at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, Pant recently took a break to spend Diwali night in Dubai with former India skipper and Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni. Sakshi Dhoni shared pictures of the celebration on Instagram, quickly gaining viral traction.
Despite Pant’s absence, Delhi Capitals (DC) director of cricket, and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, confirmed his return as captain for the IPL 2024 season. Pant participated in DC’s pre-season training camp in Kolkata last week, indicating his readiness for the upcoming season.
Updating on Pant’s physical condition, Ganguly mentioned, “Rishabh Pant is in good shape. He will play from the next season. He will not practice now. He is here till 11th November. We had a discussion about the team with Pant as he is the captain of the team, considering the upcoming auctions.”
Pant has been out of international cricket since the unfortunate car crash near Dehradun last December, leading to multiple surgeries for ligament damage in his knee. Recuperating at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, Pant’s return to practice is expected by January 2024, with Ganguly expressing optimism about his continued improvement.
