Sunny Leone criticized the ongoing focus on her past adult film career, urging media to recognize her Bollywood achievements instead.
New Delhi, 6 August 2024
Sunny Leone, who has made significant strides in Bollywood, recently addressed the ongoing attention to her past as an adult film star. In an interview with Galatta India, Sunny expressed frustration over the continued use of her “adult film star” label, stating that it was initially expected but has become tiresome over the years. She emphasized that it has been 13 years since she entered the Indian film industry, and she believes it’s time to move beyond this aspect of her past. Sunny finds it odd that this label is still used by media for traction, despite her growth and achievements.
Born Karenjit Kaur Vohra in Ontario, Canada, Sunny Leone holds dual Canadian and American citizenship. Beyond her acting career, she has been active in various causes, including participating in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Los Angeles Half-Marathon for the American Cancer Society and promoting pet welfare through a PETA campaign.
