Kundli: The newly admitted students of B.Tech (FTM), B.Tech (FT&MBA) and BBA (Hons.) at NIFTEM-Kundli participated in a special session on “Essentials of Communication” conducted by Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma as part of the institute’s ongoing induction programme.
The session focused on helping students understand how effective communication can influence their academic performance, workplace interactions and personal relationships. Through practical examples, activities and everyday communication scenarios, Dr. Sharma explained the importance of speaking with clarity, listening actively, maintaining confidence and using appropriate body language.
The interactive format encouraged students to participate in discussions and activities. Instead of relying only on theoretical concepts, the session allowed them to understand communication skills through practical experiences.
Dr. Neeraj, Professor and Dean (Academics), NIFTEM-Kundli, said that communication skills play a significant role in building students’ confidence and preparing them for their future professional roles.
Dr. Vijay Kumar Gahlawat, Professor and Associate Dean (Student Welfare), noted that the session created an environment where students could express themselves freely while learning important interpersonal skills.
Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi, Director, NIFTEM-Kundli, said communication is fundamental to developing competent and confident professionals and appreciated the efforts to provide students with practical learning opportunities.
Students also responded positively to the session. Vaishnavi from Bihar said the activities made the session different from a regular classroom lecture and helped her understand communication better. Vijay from Tamil Nadu described the experience as enriching and said the activities would help students in both their academic and professional lives.
The programme concluded with students gaining a better understanding of effective communication and its importance in their overall development. NIFTEM-Kundli’s induction programme continues to offer new students opportunities to strengthen their academic, professional and interpersonal abilities.
