US-Based Evangelist Appeals to Bhagwat to Strengthen India’s Pledge to Peace, Democracy and Equal Rights
NEW DELHI & Washington D.C.: Dr. K.A. Paul, a US-based evangelist, humanitarian and advocate for global peace, has urged leaders and communities to uphold religious freedom, equality and harmony ahead of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s reported visit to America.
Paul said he would not support attempts to prevent Bhagwat from travelling to the United States, noting that the right to freedom and equal treatment should not depend on a person’s religion, beliefs or ideology. He said the same standards should apply to advocates of religious freedom across communities, including Christians, Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs.

He argued that stopping Bhagwat’s visit would send the wrong message at a time when greater dialogue and tolerance are needed. Referring to the situation in Manipur and the difficulties faced by Christians there, Paul stressed that the safety and fundamental rights of people of every faith must be respected.
Paul also called on Bhagwat to make use of his proposed New York address to reaffirm India’s commitment to democracy and equality. He urged the RSS chief to speak clearly against violence and reassure members of minority and other faith communities that incidents such as those witnessed in Manipur should never be repeated.
In Paul’s view, such an assurance could help create greater trust between religious communities and encourage peaceful dialogue. He said India’s diverse communities should focus on coexistence and understanding rather than confrontation.
Paul, who has been involved in international peace initiatives with leaders representing the seven major religions, also appealed to people committed to peace to amplify the message of harmony, religious freedom and mutual respect.
