India Remains a Key Market for Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka recorded 2,362,521 international tourist arrivals in 2025, including 531,511 visitors from India. Indian travellers accounted for approximately 22.5% of the annual total, based on the figures provided by the tourism bureau.

By October 22, 2026, the country had welcomed 482,944 Indian visitors, who represented 26.6% of international tourist arrivals.

Sri Lanka Tourism aims to build on India’s contribution by engaging directly with regional travel markets. Kozhikode and the wider Malabar region offer opportunities to develop partnerships with travel businesses serving leisure, family and corporate travellers.

Sri Lanka Showcases Diverse Holiday Experiences

The island nation offers beaches, cultural heritage, wildlife, scenic landscapes, luxury accommodation, wellness retreats and adventure tourism.

These attractions provide travel professionals with options for different customer segments, from families and leisure travellers to luxury holidaymakers and corporate groups.

The tourism bureau hopes that stronger trade connections will help local travel businesses develop more Sri Lanka holiday packages and encourage additional visitors from Kerala.

The Travel Trade Roadshow and Networking Evening will take place on October 26, 2026, from 5 pm onwards at The Raviz Kadavu in Kozhikode, Kerala.
