Ahmedabad, June 13, 2025 —
Air India Crash: In the aftermath of the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI-171, noted evangelist and founder of the Global Peace Initiative, Dr. K.A. Paul, has extended condolences to the families of the 242 victims and called for a comprehensive investigation into the possibility of a terrorist attack.
The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, en route to London, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, plummeting into a residential area in Meghani Nagar. All passengers and crew were killed in the crash, including 169 Indian nationals, 53 British citizens, seven Portuguese nationals, and one Canadian.
Describing the incident as a “global tragedy,” Dr. Paul questioned whether the crash was a result of mechanical failure or a deliberate act of terror. Drawing from his four decades of international travel and aviation-related engagements, he raised concerns about potential security lapses and pointed to the need to investigate possibilities such as baggage tampering or remotely detonated explosives.
“This should not be dismissed as just another aviation accident. The scale and suddenness of this disaster demand a thorough and transparent inquiry from all angles—technical, legal, and political,” Dr. Paul said.
He cautioned that overlooking potential red flags could seriously undermine India’s aviation safety credentials and damage the country’s global reputation, especially in sectors such as tourism and international relations.
Calling for unity and calm, Dr. Paul urged citizens, political leaders, and investigative authorities to come together in pursuit of truth and accountability. “Such tragedies must not divide us. They should unite us in ensuring justice, safety, and global peace,” he said.
