Special financial aid, Polavaram completion, Vizag Steel revival & Telangana projects still pending. Dr. K.A. Paul gives 10-day deadline to file court replies and calls for justice.
In a fiery press conference at Andhra Bhavan today, Praja Shanti Party Founder Dr. K.A. Paul issued a stern warning to the Central Government, demanding immediate fulfillment of all promises made to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the 2014 bifurcation.
Dr. Paul highlighted that despite repeated assurances in Parliament and multiple Union Budgets, Andhra Pradesh has yet to receive Special Category Status or equivalent special financial aid. The matter is pending in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, where notices were issued over 18 months ago under Hon’ble Justice Narendra’s order to the Government of India, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy—yet no responses have been filed.
Labeling the delay as “utterly unacceptable,” Dr. Paul gave both Chief Ministers a final deadline of January 21, 2026, to submit their replies in court. He stressed that special financial support would supercharge growth, generate millions of jobs, bolster education and healthcare, and fortify state finances.
Key Demands for Andhra Pradesh:
- Immediate rollout of special financial assistance
- Swift completion of the Polavaram Irrigation Project
- Full safeguarding and revival of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant
- Establishment of promised railway zones
- National project status for major irrigation initiatives
Unmet Commitments for Telangana:
- Kazipet Rail Manufacturing Unit
- Bayyaram Steel Plant development
- NTPC Ramagundam Phase-II expansion
- Central Horticulture University setup
- National Institute of Disaster Management
- National status for Palamuru-Rangareddy project
Dr. Paul directly urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to step in and guarantee balanced, equitable development for both Telugu states. He rallied the media and citizens of Andhra and Telangana to join forces in this fight for long-overdue justice and progress.
In closing, Dr. Paul offered heartfelt condolences to industrialist Shri Anil Agarwal and his family on the tragic passing of his son, Agnivesh Agarwal.
