Parul Singh discusses para-sports and inclusion with Vice President; journalist Rakesh Kumar Singh also attends the event
New Delhi: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan released Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan’s book A Century of Service – The RSS in 100 Acts of Seva at Uprashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Delhi Paralympic Committee President Parul Singh and senior journalist Rakesh Kumar Singh attended the launch and interacted with the Vice President. Secretary to the Vice President Amit Khare, IAS, and other guests also joined the event.
During her interaction with Radhakrishnan, Parul Singh discussed para-sports, social service and inclusion. She emphasised the need to expand opportunities for athletes with disabilities and take para-sports to a wider audience.
“ There is a lot of talent among our athletes, and with the right support and platforms, they can achieve much more,” Singh said.
Rakesh Kumar Singh also spoke about the importance of social responsibility and the role of journalists in bringing meaningful stories and initiatives to the public.
“The discussion around service and social responsibility was particularly relevant to the occasion,” he said.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, a former Telangana Governor and former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, authored the book. It documents 100 accounts related to the RSS and its social-service activities over its century-long history.
At the launch, Vice President Radhakrishnan highlighted the importance of documenting good work so that it does not disappear from public memory. He described the book as a record of the organisation’s century-long service and its contribution to social responsibility and nation-building.
The event brought together guests from public life, journalism, sports and other fields for discussions around service, social responsibility and public engagement.
