Dr. K.A. Paul Says India Should Take Lead in Iran-U.S. Peace Talks, Appeals to PM Narendra Modi

Says India’s global credibility, strategic neutrality, and Prime Minister Modi’s international stature make the country best positioned to facilitate dialogue between Tehran and Washington amid rising geopolitical tensions

International peace ambassador and Global Peace President Dr. K.A. Paul has called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take a leading diplomatic role by hosting potential Iran-U.S. peace talks in India, emphasizing that India’s global credibility, neutrality, and international stature make it uniquely positioned to facilitate dialogue during a period of rising geopolitical instability.

Dr. Paul’s appeal comes amid growing concerns over the deteriorating state of ongoing diplomatic efforts involving Iran. Referring to recent developments, Dr. Paul stated that previous peace initiatives facilitated through Pakistan had “failed miserably,” while international discussions surrounding the Iran situation remain, in his words, “on life support.”

Speaking following a series of meetings with senior Republican leadership in the United States, including Speaker Mike Johnson and prominent U.S. Senators, Dr. Paul said there is increasing support within American political circles for India to play a central role in future peace negotiations.

“India is the world’s largest democracy, and the United States is the world’s oldest democracy. Together, both nations must work for global peace and stability,” said Dr. K.A. Paul.

“Prime Minister Modi is respected globally as a senior statesman whose leadership and advice are taken seriously across the world. India has a glorious diplomatic legacy and maintains strong relationships across geopolitical divides, including with both Iran and Israel. This places India in a unique position to host meaningful peace talks,” he added.

Dr. Paul stated that discussions regarding India’s potential role in facilitating peace efforts were raised during his recent meetings with senior Republican leaders in Washington, including Speaker Mike Johnson and U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz.

According to Dr. Paul, the conversations highlighted growing recognition of India’s strategic neutrality and diplomatic influence in global conflict resolution efforts.

“For months, we have been engaged in discussions surrounding the Gaza crisis, Lebanon tensions, and broader Middle East stability. The world now needs credible leadership that can bring nations together for constructive dialogue and peaceful solutions,” Dr. Paul said.

He further urged Indian political parties, civil society groups, and media organizations to support the idea of India taking a proactive diplomatic role in international peacebuilding efforts.

“India is a non-aligned nation with credibility across regions. No other country today holds the unique balance of trust, democratic legitimacy, and global respect that India possesses,” Dr. Paul stated.

Dr. Paul reiterated that his upcoming Global Peace Rallies and Economic Summits across the United States and worldwide will continue focusing on peacebuilding, economic cooperation, humanitarian support, and international diplomacy.
