The ceremony will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, while Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha will grace the function as the Chief Dignitary.

In its inaugural year, the award will honour six eminent individuals, including Hon’ble Member of Parliament Dr. Shashi Tharoor. The recognition celebrates leaders and professionals whose work demonstrates a measurable national footprint—advancing public welfare, intellectual development, and social transformation.

Dr. Tharoor’s selection reflects his extensive influence across global diplomacy, national policy, and literature. His long service at the United Nations, coupled with his active parliamentary role, has contributed significantly to India’s engagement in global issues, educational advancement, and inclusive development. As the author of more than twenty widely acclaimed books, he has also played a prominent role in shaping public understanding of India’s historical, cultural, and geopolitical identity.

Commenting on the announcement, Shri Aji Krishnan, Founder–Secretary of HRDS INDIA, said, “Dr. Shashi Tharoor represents a rare blend of intellectual leadership, international experience, and commitment to nation-building. His contributions across diplomacy, public service, and literature truly embody the spirit of the Veer Savarkar International Impact Award.”

Instituted in honour of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar—freedom fighter, reformer, and visionary thinker—the award aims to celebrate individuals whose work upholds his ideals of national courage, social reform, and transformative action. By recognising such impact-driven contributions, HRDS INDIA seeks to highlight efforts that strengthen the nation’s democratic and developmental foundations.

The inaugural ceremony will bring together leading policymakers, scholars, social leaders, and representatives from across civil society to celebrate distinguished service and thought leadership.

A registered NGO dedicated to tribal and rural empowerment, HRDS INDIA continues its mission across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Tripura, Assam, and Jharkhand. Through education, healthcare initiatives, sustainable livelihood programmes, and women’s empowerment efforts, the organisation has made tangible improvements in the lives of thousands of tribal families.
