13 meritorious children from Uttar Pradesh’s Narayanpur village fly for the first time; Principal Mamta Singh and Social Workers Turn Their Dream into Reality
New Delhi, May 29, 2026
A long-cherished dream came true for 13 bright students from Upper Primary School, Narayanpur, in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi district, as they boarded an airplane for the very first time and travelled to Delhi on a special educational tour.
Coming from economically weaker families, many of these children balance their studies with farm labour and small jobs to support their households. Despite difficult circumstances, they have consistently performed well in academics and continued to pursue education with determination.
The three-day educational trip began on May 26, 2026, with the children flying from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow to the national capital. For several students, it was not only their first flight but also their first visit outside their village.
During the tour, the students visited several important historical, cultural and educational landmarks in Delhi, including the National Museum, India Gate, the Rashtrapati Bhavan area, educational institutions and other iconic sites.
On May 29, the children also visited the Parliament House with the support of Member of Parliament Kishori Lal. The visit gave them an opportunity to closely understand the functioning of Indian democracy and witness the country’s highest democratic institution firsthand.
The initiative was led by the school’s principal, Mamta Singh, who played a key role in turning the children’s dreams into reality. Without waiting for government assistance, she took personal responsibility for organising the tour. With support from friends, well-wishers and contributors, nearly ₹2 lakh was raised to make the journey possible.
Speaking about the initiative, Principal Mamta Singh said: “This is not just a trip, but an effort to give these children the confidence to dream bigger. We want them to believe that with education and hard work, no goal is impossible.”
Adding to the memorable experience, Janata Party President Navneet Chaturvedi hosted a special lunch for the children and their accompanying team at the prestigious Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi on May 28. For children coming from humble village backgrounds, the experience was nothing short of extraordinary.
Navneet Chaturvedi said: “When I learned about the struggles and aspirations of these children, I felt that society’s responsibility is not limited to discussions alone, but also to helping fulfil their dreams. These village children are no less talented than anyone else. With the right opportunities and support, they can make the country proud.”
The initiative has brought a wave of happiness and pride in the village. Parents and local residents have described it as an inspiring example of how education and collective support can transform the lives of children.
More than just an educational tour, the initiative sends a strong social message that financial hardship should never limit a child’s dreams. With proper guidance and encouragement, children from villages can also aspire to touch the skies.
