Rajasthan Tourism Meet Held at Bikaner House to Boost Visitor Engagement

In an effort to strengthen Rajasthan’s position as a top travel destination, the Rajasthan Tourism Department hosted a Tourism Meet at Bikaner House as part of the ongoing Rajasthan Utsav, which will run until April 2. The event brought together key stakeholders, including tourism industry experts, government officials, travel agencies, and representatives from the state tourism department, to discuss innovative strategies for promoting Rajasthan’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
Dr. Deepali Sharma, Deputy Director of Rajasthan Tourism, highlighted the success of a special talk show titled “Mharo Rajasthan” (Beautiful and Divine, My Rajasthan), organized in collaboration with Music Veranda. The panel featured six experts discussing ways to attract more visitors. She also noted that Rajasthan currently ranks seventh in tourism across India, with a remarkable 28% increase in both domestic and international tourists over the past year—a significant achievement for the state.
To enhance visitor engagement, the festival venue at Bikaner House has been adorned with themed installations, large digital screens, interactive selfie points, and vibrant banners showcasing Rajasthan’s top attractions.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Rinku Meena, Joint Resident Commissioner of the Rajasthan Government, outlined the state’s new tourism policy, which focuses on expanding key segments such as heritage and cultural tourism, adventure and desert tourism, wildlife exploration, religious tourism, and festival-based tourism.
She further emphasized Rajasthan’s commitment to infrastructure development, including better road, air, and rail connectivity to major tourist sites, the promotion of heritage hotels and homestays, and the use of digital marketing. Additionally, the state is working towards eco-tourism, sustainable tourism initiatives, and film tourism to ensure long-term growth in the sector.
