Ten-day festival draws strong response from Delhi visitors for Rajasthan’s crafts, women-led products and traditional cuisine

New Delhi: The ten-day Teejotsav Craft and Food Fair concluded at Bikaner House on Monday, recording sales of more than ₹1.30 crore. The event showcased Rajasthan’s traditional handicrafts, textiles, apparel, food and cultural heritage to visitors in the national capital.

Organised as a platform for artisans, craftspeople, artists, women-led self-help groups and food producers, the festival attracted strong footfall throughout its ten-day run.

Principal Resident Commissioner Rohit Kumar congratulated the participants on the record sales and said visitors showed strong interest in handicrafts, food products, cultural performances and traditional games.

RUDA Advisor Om Prakash said 25 stalls featuring Rajasthani handicrafts, textiles and apparel were set up by RUDA. He noted that the stalls recorded substantial purchases and significantly higher sales than in earlier editions.

Rajeevika also participated with 15 stalls featuring award-winning artists and craftspeople linked to women’s self-help groups. Products included hand-block printed bedsheets, suits, sarees, bangles, jewellery, mojari footwear, lacquerware, leather goods and traditional Rajasthani food.

Saras dairy products were another major draw, generating sales of more than ₹3 lakh. Visitors purchased products from various district milk unions, including Alwar kalakand, Bikaner rasgullas and gulab jamuns, cow ghee, buttermilk, lassi, paneer and shrikhand.

According to Joint Resident Commissioner Rinku Meena, the festival was also visited by several prominent dignitaries, including Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, MP Bhagirath Choudhary, the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan and senior officials from the IAS, IPS and Indian Forest Service.

The festival was inaugurated on August 15 by Rohit Kumar, who lit the ceremonial lamp. Its cultural programme featured the traditional Teej Mata procession, performances by folk artists from various regions of Rajasthan and a special performance by renowned Rajasthani folk artist Kutle Khan.

Teejotsav 2026 also served as an important platform for artisans and women’s self-help groups to sell their products directly to consumers. The initiative helped connect Delhi audiences with Rajasthan’s traditional crafts, cuisine, music and folk traditions.

The festival’s strong commercial response and high visitor turnout underlined the growing demand for Rajasthan’s traditional products and created new opportunities for artisans, craftspeople and grassroots entrepreneurs to reach wider markets.
