Serious Allegations Against Huma Qureshi’s Father: Case of Child Abuse at Sadiq Nagar Mosque Reaches DCP Office

Exploitation of innocent children under the guise of religious education at the mosque; CCTV footage and children’s statements reveal the truth.
New Delhi: Serious allegations of child sexual abuse and criminal activities have surfaced from Noori Masjid, located in Delhi’s Sadiq Nagar. Social activists and mosque administration officials reached the DCP office today to formally lodge a complaint. Haji Rosh Mohammad, the head of Noori Masjid, revealed that distressing incidents involving obscene behavior and physical abuse of young children studying at the mosque have come to light. He stated that he received this information from the mosque’s Imam and other credible sources.
Haji Rosh Mohammad further said that an initial complaint was submitted to the Delhi Waqf Board, which swiftly acted by forwarding the case to the police. Expressing his gratitude to the CEO of the Delhi Waqf Board, he acknowledged their seriousness in the matter and their written directive to law enforcement for prompt action.
The complaint also alleges that certain anti-social elements have taken shelter within the mosque premises. These individuals are not only tarnishing the sanctity of the religious site but also posing a threat to children and women in the area. Saleem Qureshi, reportedly the father of actress Huma Qureshi, has been accused of harboring such elements within the mosque. Alongside him, five to six others, including individuals named Sharif, Manzoor, and Rizwan, are said to be intimidating locals and operating with impunity.
The severity of the case is substantiated by CCTV footage and the statements of a victimized child, clearly establishing violations under the POSCO Act. The video has been shared on social media, and all evidence has been submitted to the Waqf Board, DCP, SP, DSP, IG, and DIG. However, the complainants allege that no adequate action or hearing has taken place so far.
Social activist Salma Mansoori, who has been associated with the mosque for the past 35 years, shared that when she tried to speak with the children and uncover the truth, she was barred from entering the mosque premises. “I’ve always been committed to the well-being of the children,” she said, “but now people like Saleem Qureshi want to keep me away so that the children’s suffering remains hidden.”
Salma Mansoori has appealed to the Delhi Government, Delhi Police, and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to take immediate steps to remove these anti-social individuals from the mosque and ensure the safety of women and children. She warned that if timely action is not taken, any future incident would be the responsibility of the administration.
Key Demands:
- Strict legal action under the POSCO Act against the accused.
- Immediate removal of Saleem Qureshi and his associates from the mosque premises.
- Restoration of the mosque as a safe space for religious and social activities.
- Transparency and urgency in action by all concerned authorities.
- Proper counseling and rehabilitation arrangements for the victimized children.
In conclusion, Haji Rosh Mohammad, Salma Mansoori, and other community members collectively asserted that if their voices continue to be ignored, they will be compelled to initiate high-level protests and legal proceedings. They also urged all citizens of Delhi to raise their voices in support of child safety.
