Women Employees Raise Voice for Dignified Workplaces

Women Employees Demand for Dignified Workplaces

“Pink for Respect” Campaign Launched to Promote Awareness

New Delhi, May 21, 2026:

Women employees across Rajasthan have raised concerns over remarks allegedly made by a senior IAS officer of the Rajasthan Government during a video conference regarding maternity leave, child care leave, and other sensitive issues related to women employees. The comments have reportedly hurt and disappointed many women staff members.

In response, a memorandum was submitted to Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma seeking assurance of dignity, respect, and a safe working environment for women employees.

As part of this effort, a peaceful and democratic awareness initiative titled “Pink for Respect” has been launched. The campaign aims to encourage greater sensitivity towards women’s contributions, self-respect, and dignity at workplaces.

Organisers said the initiative is entirely symbolic, peaceful, and in line with constitutional values. They clarified that the campaign does not involve any strike, boycott of work, or violation of conduct rules.

The campaign highlights the fact that women shoulder important responsibilities both at home and in professional spaces, making respectful and sensitive behaviour towards them essential in every institution.

In support of the initiative, women employees, male colleagues, and members of different sections of society have worn pink clothing to express solidarity with the message of dignity and respect at workplaces.

The campaign carries a simple yet strong message: “Working with dignity and respect is every woman’s right.”
