Gurugram: An evening of soulful melodies, lively rhythms and musical storytelling unfolded at Epicentre, Gurugram, as Paapori Harsh performed ‘The Jugni Story – The Paapori Harsh Project Live’. Moving between Sufi compositions, Bollywood favourites and folk-inspired numbers, the concert offered audiences a blend of nostalgia, reflection and entertainment.
At Epicentre, Gurugram, vocalist and performing artist Paapori Harsh took the audience on a musical ride that moved from soulful Sufi compositions to Bollywood favourites, folk influences and lively fusion numbers. With changing moods, engaging storytelling and a setlist that offered something for different musical tastes, the evening struck a balance between introspection and celebration.
The concert unfolded across five musical chapters, each bringing a distinct flavour to the stage. Jalsa: Of Raags, Roots & a Little Rebellion opened the evening with a celebration of musical traditions, while Zindagi explored love, life and the journeys that shape us. Yaman Aur Dosti brought the warmth of friendship into the mix, followed by The Call of the Divine, which explored the search for a deeper connection. The final chapter, Leaving with a Thumka!, added a lively finish to the evening.
What made the performance engaging was the movement between musical styles and emotions. Just as the audience settled into the mood of a soulful composition, the next number brought a fresh rhythm or a familiar melody. The result was a concert that made room for both quiet reflection and moments of pure musical enjoyment.
Dr. Nity who is an avid music lover had come all along from Delhi enjoyed the experience, particularly the way the performance brought its different musical elements together. “I loved the overall vibe of the concert. The choice of songs, the energy on stage and the way one musical chapter flowed into another kept the evening engaging. It was a refreshing experience, and I enjoyed every bit of it,” she said.
For Abhishek, who attended the show, the energy and song selection stood out. “The energy was incredible throughout the evening. The song
selection was really good, and the way Paapori Harsh brought together Sufi, Bollywood and folk music made the experience even more
enjoyable. The whole vibe was amazing, and you could feel yourself getting immersed in the music,” he said.
Behind the performance is an artist whose journey has taken a less conventional route. Before pursuing music full-time, Paapori Harsh spent nearly 15 years working in corporate leadership, consulting, management training and academia in the National Capital Region. Her transition from the corporate world to the stage has shaped her interest in storytelling, human behaviour and the emotional connections people form through music.
A Sangeet Visharad, Paapori Harsh trained under Vidushi Padmaja Chakraborty, a disciple of the late Vidushi Girija Devi. Her repertoire spans Hindustani classical, Sufi, folk, ghazal, Bollywood and Indian fusion. She has also trained in Music & Wellness at Berklee College of Music, Boston, and Happiness Coaching at Berkeley College, California.
The Jugni Story – The Paapori Harsh Project Live is part of Paapori Harsh’s 2026 tour. The Gurugram event was powered by Toyota and supported by Kognaz, konverz.ai, STRAT-BOARD, Urban Ayush, The Music Village and Teen Keedey.
By the time the final chapter arrived, The Jugni Story had travelled through several shades of music and emotion, leaving the audience with an evening that celebrated not just the songs themselves, but also the memories, relationships and feelings that make music personal.
