Kalyan Kumar Shaw, a dedicated officer of the Tatanagar Railway Civil Defence, has earned national distinction by securing second position in the prestigious ‘Flood and Cyclone Response Course’ conducted by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Academy, Nagpur.

The five-week intensive course brought together 32 participants from across India, including personnel from Civil Defence, Home Guards, State Disaster Response Forces (SDRF), and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The training focused on high-impact areas such as submerged structure rescues, rapid response deployment, and mass evacuation procedures during natural disasters.

Tatanagar Civil Defence Inspector Mr. Santosh Kumar praised the accomplishment, stating:
“Kalyan’s achievement is a proud moment for us all. His dedication and skillset embody the values of service, readiness, and professionalism that our unit strives to uphold. We are committed to nurturing more such talent to strengthen our disaster response capabilities.”
