The BJP National Executive President held an interactive dialogue with journalists on media responsibility and democratic values, and was ceremonially felicitated with the Mithila Paag symbolising cultural respect.

An interactive meeting between journalists and Bharatiya Janata Party National Executive President Nitin Naveen was held in New Delhi on Tuesday, focusing on the evolving relationship between the media and political leadership and the shared responsibility of strengthening democratic discourse.
The interaction provided a platform for journalists to exchange views with Nitin Naveen on the role of the media in a democratic society. Discussions centred on the importance of independent, responsible and fact-based journalism, along with issues related to transparency, information flow, and reporting on matters of public interest.
Participants emphasised the media’s social responsibility in shaping informed public opinion while maintaining professional ethics. The exchange also touched upon contemporary national concerns and the need for constructive dialogue between journalists and elected representatives.
Following the interaction, senior journalist Rakesh Singh felicitated Nitin Naveen with the traditional Mithila headgear, known as the Paag. The honour symbolised the rich cultural heritage of the Mithila region and its long-standing tradition of respect, dignity and hospitality.
Speaking after the felicitation, Rakesh Singh said that meaningful dialogue between journalists and public representatives is vital for a healthy democracy. He added that the Mithila tradition of honouring guests with the Paag reflects deep-rooted cultural values and mutual respect.
The meeting was also attended by Sanjay Mayukh, Member of the Bihar Legislative Council and National Media Co-Incharge of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who interacted with journalists during the session.
According to the organisers, the interaction was aimed at strengthening engagement between the media and political leadership and encouraging open, constructive discussions on issues of public importance.
