Veteran Journalist Rakesh Kumar Singh Marks 30 Successful Years in Journalism

New Delhi: Celebrating 30 distinguished years in journalism, senior journalist and Global Eye, Chicago Consulting Editor Rakesh Kumar Singh has established a career marked by fearless reporting, editorial integrity, and an enduring commitment to public welfare.

Starting his professional journey in 1996 as a Trainee Reporter with Dainik Jagran from its INS Building office on Rafi Marg in New Delhi, Singh has consistently championed fact-based, impartial journalism with a strong focus on issues that directly impact society. On the occasion, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to his editors, colleagues, mentors, well-wishers, and readers for their constant support and trust throughout his career.

Over the past three decades, Singh has held several key editorial and reporting positions at some of India’s leading media organisations. Between 2000 and 2004, he served as South Delhi Bureau Chief at Hindustan before joining Hindustan Times Limited as Chief Crime Reporter in Delhi. During this period, he earned recognition for his in-depth investigative reporting on national security, crime, and internal security. His exclusive reports on the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), the activities of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and other sensitive national security issues received wide appreciation for their accuracy, depth, and public relevance.

Rakesh Kumar Singh is widely regarded as one of the journalists who helped redefine investigative journalism in the Hindi media landscape. He was among the first to present detailed and credible reports on the Intelligence Bureau (IB), India’s internal security framework, and key developments within the Ministry of Home Affairs to Hindi readers. His reporting not only enhanced public understanding of critical security issues but also set new benchmarks for investigative journalism by combining factual accuracy with responsible reporting.

In addition to his extensive work in print journalism, Singh has also made notable contributions to electronic media. He served as Metro Editor at Total TV and later worked with India News. He currently serves as Consulting Editor at Global Eye, Chicago, while also holding the position of Consulting Editor at Network Ten, where he continues to contribute his editorial expertise across multiple platforms.

Reflecting on his three-decade-long journey, Rakesh Kumar Singh said journalism has never been merely a profession for him but a lifelong responsibility towards society. He noted that the trust, encouragement, and support he has received from colleagues, mentors, and readers over the years have remained his greatest strength and have inspired him to overcome every challenge.
