Parul Singh Wins National Icon Award 2026 for Excellence in Para Sports

New Delhi: Adding another milestone to the journey of para sports in India, Delhi Paralympic Committee President Ms. Parul Singh was honoured with the National Icon Award 2026 for her significant role in promoting para sports, empowering athletes with disabilities, and encouraging inclusive participation in sports. The award ceremony was organised by Arogya Darpan at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi.

The prestigious recognition was presented by a distinguished group of guests, including Shri Saurabh Kumar Tewari, Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India; Smt. Rashmi Mishra, National Advisor, MSME; Shri Pradeep Gandhi, Former Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha); and Shri Ram Verma, Chairman of the Organising Committee, National Icon Awards 2026.

The honour reflects Ms. Singh’s remarkable commitment to empowering para-athletes, promoting equal opportunities, and advancing the growth of para sports in Delhi. With her guidance, the Delhi Paralympic Committee has been consistently working to support athletes, encourage grassroots participation, and create a stronger platform for sportspersons with disabilities.

After receiving the award, Ms. Parul Singh thanked everyone associated with the para sports movement and said, “This honour is a testament to the combined efforts of para-athletes, coaches, officials, and supporters who continue to believe in the ability of sports to transform lives. I dedicate this recognition to the entire para sports fraternity and pledge to continue working towards a more inclusive and supportive sporting environment.”

The Delhi Paralympic Committee praised Ms. Parul Singh’s achievement and noted that her leadership will continue to inspire the para sports community and contribute to building a more inclusive sporting future for India.
